"Without music. Cover title. Series statement at head of title. Running title: Watts' divine and moral songs. Publisher's advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper, includes ads for Half hours with the Bible (two series, six titles each), Mother's series, Father's series, and illuminated texts for Sunday school rewards (12 packets). Highly similar ads for these products appear in the McLoughlin Catalogue of toy books, games, &c. for 1875-'76. One copy of another title in this series bears an inscription dated 1870. A publisher's catalogue for 1870 was not available. Wrapper and illustrations printed in color by a relief process (i.e., zinc etchings?). Wrapper design signed, "C.J.K." (i.e., engraver Charles J. Knapp?). Illustration, p. [3], signed: Knapp-Co."
