Summary
"Wrapper title. 1 uncut paper doll and one booklet containing "Directions for making" on p. [2] of wrapper and four uncut leaves containing 4 dresses and 4 hats. Paper doll depicts a preteen (i.e., tween) girl. "McLoughlin Bros., 30 Beekman Street, N.Y. manufacturers of toy books, games, &c."-- p. [4] of wrapper. McLoughlin Bros. was located at 30 Beekman St. between 1863 and 1869. "Electrotyped by Vincent Dill, no. 24 Beekman Street, N.Y[.]"--foot of p. [4] of wrapper. Vincent Dill was located at 24 Beekman St. between 1859 and 1866. Wrapper printed in color. Wood engravings hand-colored under the direction of the publisher. Engravings signed by Edward P. Cogger; looks like they were designed by Justin H. Howard. Advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper, includes ads for Paper dolls, book form, series no. 1, 2, 3 and 4; and "Amusing and instructive games for children, over 30 kinds." "Paper dolls ... Series no. 2. Six new kinds. ... Susan Lee ... each 10 cents."--p. [4] of wrapper."
