Summary
Mostly chromolithographed illustrations, with two poems. Full-page illustrations have the following captions: Playmates. Dolly's wash day. Ironing Dolly's clothes. Begging for his dinner. Three cheers for the red, white & blue. Feeding Dolly. Doctor Fred visits the sick Dolly. Little Polly Flinders sits among the cinders. Cover title. Most of the full-page illustrations were published earlier in the picture book, Young America's ABC and pretty picture book (New York: McLoughlin Bros., [1900?]). The McLoughlin Bros. company was sold to Milton Bradley in 1920, and McLoughlin Bros. moved from its former headquarters in New York to Springfield, Mass. Cover included in pagination.
