Summary
"G.W. Faber was located in Nuremberg, Germany. Includes twenty puzzle blocks with six scenes from the American Civil War as well as the lithographed images with titles printed in English, German and French. The cover of the box features a well-dressed family seated in an interior, the mother handing the child a game in a box. Out the window a heavily armored train runs on tracks. Two soldiers in military dress flank the central image, each holding an American flag. "Retreat of the Federal army over the Rappahannock after the battle of Fredericksburg; Skirmishers of the 8th German riflemen-regiment driving back the pursuing cavalry of the enemy after the Battle at Bulls-Run; General Burnside's pontoneers in the Battle of Fredericksburg; Reconnoitiring of the banks of the Potomac-River at night by means of electrical light; Encounter at Bethel in Virginia 6th June 1861; Virginian negro-slaves imploring protection in the camp of the Union-army."
