Art critic texts by noted art historian, Nelly Richard, which in addition to revising her previous publication Márgenes e Instituciones she collects the "lines of strength that polemically tension the field of discourses around the 'Advanced'" in art. "In response to the invitation I received from the Visual Arts Department of the Universidad de Chile at the beginning of 20191, I began to shape this book -about the "rewrites and counter-writings of the advanced [art] scene"- with the purpose of bringing together some interventions (mine and from others) that, since the publication of "Márgenes e Instituciones" in 1986 were part of intense and extensive critical debates. Those of us involved in this editorial project considered it interesting to bring these materials together as a theoretical contribution to a reflection on the relationships between art, criticism, politics, memory and archives in Chile.
