Summary
"With the cancellation of the festivities in 2020 and 2021, the 32ᵉ edition of the Dour Festival and its host of artists was particularly awaited. One of the site's eight stages, named La Petite Maison dans la Prairie, which is particularly innovative and contemporary, hosted the singer Sevdaliza on July 14th. Born in Tehran, Iran and raised in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Sevda Alizadeh was a member of the Dutch national basketball team and walked the runway for the very popular fashion designer Iris van Herpen. However, no one was there for her dribbling or her catwalk outfits, but for her hypnotic voice and her trip-hop-tinged songs, often compared to those of Björk. After a critically acclaimed debut album (ISON) and one of her hits ""Human,"" she returns in 2020 and continues her phenomenal rise with the album Shabrang, pushing the boundaries of trip-hop to the limit, in between pop melodies, RnB references, and electronic sounds. On stage, accompanied by a keyboardist, a violinist and a drummer, she appears in front of a giant screen showing images of her futuristic clips, which plunge us directly into her fascinating universe. She then connects the titles with crazy energy, leaving the delicious impression that time is suspended. After half an hour of live, she takes control of the turntables for a rather surprising ten-minute mini-dj set (with ""L'amour Toujours"" by Gigi D'Agostino and ""Breathe"" by Prodigy) then recovers the microphone for a more muscular last quarter of an hour, in the style of her brand new EP Raving Dahlia, against a background of synthesizers and psycho-rock elements. Half-human, half-divine, Sevdaliza leaves no one indifferent!".
