Summary
A sensitive portrait of one of the most forward-thinking theologians and scholars of his time, Rabbi William Kramer (1920 - 2004). The program begins with a rather light-hearted view of this eclectic rabbi, who occasionally worked as an actor; then it delves into more serious subject matter, including his personal life, and his wide range of ideas and philosophies. He took his work "beyond the pulpit"; he published the Western States Jewish History Journal for over 30 years and officiated at over 10,000 weddings.
