Summary
Illuminated manuscript, on paper, of Ali Çelebi’s Hümāyūn-nāme, a mirror for princes containing advice for rulers in the form of didactic fables, as well as some short verses. The text is an adaptation into Ottoman Turkish by Ali Çelebi of a translation from the Persian of Anvār-i Suhaylī (انوار سهیلی), itself a translation by Ḥusayn Vāʻiẓ Kāshifī (حسين واعظ كاشفي) from the Arabic Kalīlah wa-Dimnah (كليلة ودمنة) to Persian.
