Proposed canals are the same as those shown on J. Théophile Landreau's map "Tracé pour la jonction des deux oceans" (possibly published in 1866), which suggests him as the creator of these cross sections.

Shows cross sections of Colombia and eastern Panama on which canals have been proposed to connect the Atrato River to the Pacific coast. Coordinates represent the entire region covered.
