Summary
These directive replies are responses from Mass Observation's National Panel to open-ended questionnaires. The questionnaires asked for opinions on a variety of subjects, including class, race, sexual behaviour, air raids, and conscription. The National Panel consisted of around 500 volunteers who wrote personal accounts for Mass Observation. Includes the responses of long-term panellists Nella Last and Naomi Mitchison.
