Journalists, journalism and Vietnamese newspapers from the early days to 1945, including Vietnamese newspapers in other countries. In part I, each newspaper's portrait is recreated on the basis of memoirs and notes of journalists from 1945 and before and through content from newspapers and magazines. The book provides basic information on the history of the development of journalism with the birth of French and Chinese newspapers. Next came the appearance of Gia Dinh newspaper in 1865, marking the birth of Vietnamese journalism. Initially, it was mainly the government's press, serving the information needs of localities, publishing circulars, decrees, and current news related to prices, crops, and anti-insurgency. Later, private newspapers were born and had an important position in the newspaper industry. The book covers the structure and organization of a newspaper with basic positions: Chairman, Editor, Manager, ... providing many examples of newspaper publishing costs and distribution methods. Part II creates an attractive and authentic story about journalism: techniques for getting news and articles, newspaper writing royalties, newspaper selling price, collaboration in journalism, censorship and the short-lived existence of some newspapers due to being banned, discontinued by the colonial government, or lack of capital.
