Text starts with: "... wa-jahala wajaba ghaslu kullihi, wa-law ghasala baʻḍa najisin thumma bāqiyahu, fa-in ghusila maʻa mujāwirihi ṭuhira, wa-illā fa-ghayr al-mujāwir, wa-lā taṣuḥḥu ṣalātun naḥwa qābiḍ ṭaraf muttaṣil bi-najis, wa-lā yaḍurru najisun yuḥādhīhi, wa-law waṣala ʻaẓmahu li-ḥājatin bi-najisin lā yaṣluḥu ghayruhu ʻudhira, wa-illā wajaba nazʻuhu in amina ḍararan yubīḥu al-tayammum wa-lam yamut, wa-ʻufiya ʻan maḥall istijmārihi fī ḥaqqihi wa-ʻammā ʻasura al-iḥtirāz ʻanhu ghāliban min ṭīn shāriʻin najisin yaqīnan ..."
البداية مفقودة. يبدأ النص كما يلي: "... وجهل وجب غسل كله، ولو غسل بعض نجسن ثم باقيه، فإن غسل مع مجاوره طهر، وإلّا فغير المجاور، ولا تصحّ صلاةٌ نحو قابض طرف متّصل بنجس، ولا يضرّ نجسن يحاذيه، ولو وصل عظمه لحاجةٍ بنجسن لا يصلح غيره عذر، وإلّا وجب نزعه إن أمن ضررًا يبيح التيمم ولم يمت، وعفي عن محل استجماره في حقّه وعمّا عسر الاحتراز عنه غالبًا من طين شارع نجسن يقينًا ..."

Yajibu ṣawm Ramaḍān bi-kamāl Shaʻbān thalāthīn, aw ruʼyat al-hilāl, aw thubūtuhā bi-ʻadlin, shahādatan, wa-idhā ṣumnā bihā thalāthīn afṭarnā, fa-in ruʼiya bi-maḥallin lazimahu ḥukmuhu maḥallan qarīban, wa-huwa bi-ittiḥād al-maṭlaʻ, fa-law sāfara ilá baʻīdin min maḥall ruʼyatihi wāfaqa ahlahu fī al-ṣawm ākhiran, fa-law ʻayyada thumma ..."
الخاتمة: لا يوجد خاتمة. ينتهي النص فجأةً كما يلي: "... كتاب الصوم. يجب صوم رمضان بكمال شعبان ثلاثين، أو رؤية الهلال، أو ثبوتها بعدل، شهادةً، وإذا صمنا بها ثلاثين أفطرنا، فإن رؤي بمحل لزمه حكمه محلًا قريبًا، وهو باتخاد المطلع، فلو سافر إلى بعيدٍ من محلّ رؤيته وافق أهله في الصوم آخرًا، فلو عيّد ثم ..."

Fragment of "Manhaj al-ṭullāb", a treatise on Islamic law, by Zakarīyā ibn Muḥammad al-Anṣārī (approximately 1423-approximately 1520), a prolific Egyptian Shafiʻī Islamic law scholar, Shaykh al-Islām and Qāḍī al-Quḍah, during the rule of Qāʼit Bāy (Sultan of Egypt and Syria, died 1496), being an abridgement of "Minhāj al-ṭālibīn" of Abū Zakarīyā Yaḥyá ibn Sharf al-Nawawī, a well-known and prolific Shāfiʻī scholar from the village of Nawá in Ḥawrān (Syria), an authority on Ḥadīth and Islamic law. Name of copyist and place of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.
