On folio 1a: An ownership statement: "Milk al-faqīr Ziyādah al-Basyūnī al-Shāfiʻī al-Azharī, ghafara Allāh la-hu wa-li-wālidayhi."

خاتمة المؤلف: "قال مؤلفه الشيخ إبراهيم البرماوي: وجمعت بعد العشاء، ليلة الجمعة، من الليلة الرابعة عشر، من شهر ربيع الثاني المبارك، من شهور سنة 1055، خمسة وخمسين وألف، من الهجرة النبوية، على صاحبها أفضل الصلاة والسلام."
Translation of the author's colophon: "Its author, al-Shaykh Ibrāhīm al-Birmāwī, said: It was collected after the evening prayer, on Friday, the fourteenth night of the blessed month of Rabīʻ al-Thānī, of the year 1055, one thousand and fifty-five, of the Prophet's Hijrah [9 June 1645], may the best blessings and peace be upon Him."
Copyist's colophon: "Taḥrīran fī thānī Rabīʻ al-Thānī min shuhūr sanat 1066, sittah wa-sittīn wa-alf, ʻalá yad al-ʻabd al-faqīr Muḥammad (?)."
خاتمة الناسخ: "تحريرًا في ثاني ربيع الثاني من شهور سنة 1066، ستة وستين وألف، على يد العبد الفقير محمد (؟)."

Summary
Masʼalat al-jāriyah (issue of the female slave), a treatise on buying and selling of an enslaved woman, according to Islamic law, by Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad al-Birmāwī (died 1694 or 1695), a Shāfiʻī Islamic law scholar and Shaykh al-Azhar, his "nisbah" is to "Birmah" in Gharbīyah Province, Egypt (Ziriklī 1:67). The author based his treatise on materials he culled from the writings on this issue by his teacher al-Shihāb al-Qalyūbī (Shihāb al-Dīn Aḥmad ibn Aḥmad, -1659) and by al-Jalāl al-Maḥallī (Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad, 1389-1459). The author finished writing his treatise on Friday, 14 Rabīʻ al-Thānī, of the year 1055 of the Hijrah (9 June 1645). Copied by Muḥammad (?), on 2 Rabīʻ al-Thānī, of the year 1066 of the Hijrah (29 January 1656). Place of copying not mentioned.
