Layout: single column of 13 lines.
Script: gothic textualis.
Decoration: four-sided rinceaux borders on every page, many heavily decorated and with an animal (rabbit, peacock, bird (incl. chickens), cat, bear, monkey (sometimes with flask), dog). Single- and double-line initials in red, blue, and gold. Rubrication throughout.
Binding: blind-tooled modern white leather over pasteboard, embossed; gauffered. Signed by unidentified binder on inner front cover. Gilt edges.
Foliated 1-84 in modern pencil in upper right corner.
Modern manuscript title on front flyleaf: Horae Beatae Mariae Virginis ad usum Ecclesiae Parisiensis.
In Latin.
Provenance
Verso front flyleaf includes "Titelbladet Gestadt 1919." Back pastedown includes manuscript annotation describing the manuscript in Mrs. Ege's hand. Formerly owned by Otto F. Ege (Ege 5.1999). Manuscript volume was on deposit with the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA); inventory number on front flyleaf: TR 12333/2. Purchased from John M. Freudenheim, Tom Freudenheim, Jo Freudenheim, Susan Core, Richard Core, and Michael Frisch, via JSJT Holdings, LLC, 2015-2018, with Edwin J. Beinecke Book Fund, Herman W. Liebert Book Fund, and the John W. Corwith Memorial Fund.

Summary
Illuminated manuscript, in unidentified hand, on parchment, of a book of hours, use of Paris or Rome. Contains: Penitential Psalms (ff. 1r-16r), Kyrie, litany, prayers (ff. 16r-27v), Suffrages (ff. 28r-31v), Eucharistic prayers (ff. 32r-35v), Office of the Dead (36v-81v), Verses of St. Bernard (ff. 81v-84r). Perhaps use of Rome: responsories in Office of the Dead use of Rome. Imperfect: missing calendar, missing opening in psalm 6, missing one folio between ff. 27 and 28, missing one folio between ff. 31 and 32, missing one folio between ff. 35 and 36.
