Summary
Manuscript on paper of of Melḥame-i Cevrī, by the Ottoman poet and calligrapher Cevrî İbrahim Efendi. Melḥame (pl. Melāḥim) is a distinct genre of narrations concerning prophecies of future events, especially apocalyptic wars and catastrophic battles. Melḥame-i Cevrī is a popular text of astrological prognostication which draws on another book, the Şemsiyye, written by Yazıcı Sâlih in the year AH 811/1408 CE. The table of contents (f. 3b) shows the twelfth body parts of the book each corresponding to a month of the year.
