Script: Gothic textualis.
Decoration: six half-page miniatures with extravagant panel borders with flowers, fruit, foliage, acanthus, and animals: of the four Evangelists (f. 13r), of the Annunciation (f. 25r), David in penance (f. 62r), of the Crucifixion (f. 78r), of monks chanting before a draped coffin (f. 84r), of the Virgin and Child with a portrait of a young woman praying (indicating female ownership(?), f. 110v). Includes 24 small border miniatures in the calendar; Labors of the month on recto, biblical scenes on verso. Several folios with three-sided borders; multi-line flourished initials; dentelle initials; one-line dentelle versal initials; line-fillers of red and blue with gold drops and highlighted with white penwork. Elaborate borders throughout. Rubrication.
Binding: modern black blind-tooled leather binding, with traces of clasps.
Miniatures attributed to the Master of the Rouen Échevinage, active 1460-1480.

Provenance
Several short manuscript notes in modern pencil on front pastedown and front flyleaf. Note “321” on white paper stub pasted into lower left corner front pastedown. Formerly owned by Otto Ege (Ege 956.1986). Ege’s black monogram on front pastedown. Manuscript volume was on deposit with the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA); inventory number on front pastedown: TR 12828/24. Purchased from John M. Freudenheim, Tom Freudenheim, Jo Freudenheim, Susan Core, Richard Core, and Michael Frisch, via JSJT Holdings, LLC, 2015-2018, with Edwin J. Beinecke Book Fund, Herman W. Liebert Book Fund, and the John W. Corwith Memorial Fund.
