Summary
This second edition of a title published in 1999 continues to chronicle the world's dysfunction by describing and analyzing the important post-World War II conflicts. Some of the new conflicts not covered in the first edition include the genocide in Darfur, the Muslim rebellion in Thailand in 2004, the second intifada in Palestine, and the U.S. war in Iraq. Each conflict entry includes a classification of the type of conflict (ethnic and religious being the most frequent), the participants in the conflict, historical background, a timeline, an analysis of the conflict, a bibliography, and a map.
