From the Colton Storm catalogue: "From the eleventh of August to the second or third of September, 1806, Depestre accompanied Aaron Burr on travels through Pennsylvania, Virginia and Ohio. In this affidavit he declared that during that time he heard no evidence that Burr was plotting anything against the United States. The first part of the document comprises Depestre's statement; this is followed by a series of questions on cross examination by Burr with Depestre's answers. The whole is signed and is followed by a six-line attestation by E. Carringrton that Depestre appeared before him and swore to the truth of the document."
