The papers record a Congressional Committee Hearing, where Colonel Andrews, senior Indian commissioner at Council Bluffs and Osage River, was questioned as to his part in negotiating the treaty signed by the Potawatami Indians in June 1846, financial agreements that the Indians made with the traders, especially G. W. and W. G. Ewing, and conversations with the Ewings.
