Summary
The reports to Col. A. M. Robinson, Superintendent of Indian Affairs in St. Louis, cover Alexander Redfield's voyage from St. Louis up the Missouri and Yellowstone Rivers to Forts Benton and Sarpy distributing annuities and presents to the Arikarees, Assiniboines, Crees, Crows, Gros Ventres (Atsina Indians), Mandans, and Yanctons, and the attitude of the Indians toward the Treaty of Fort Laramie and recommendations for a peaceful settlement.
