Videotape testimony of David S., who was born in Thessalonikē, Greece in 1916, one of five children. He recalls attending a Jewish school; his large extended family; working at his family's grocery business; one sister's emigration to Israel; German occupation; forced labor; marriage; deportation to Auschwitz; separation from his family; transfer to Buna/Monowitz; his sister sending him food (she was a block commander); returning to Thessalonikē after liberation; learning only he and his sister had survived the camps; reopening his family's business; his sister's emigration to join their sister in Israel; remarriage to a woman who had been hidden by non-Jews; and the births of four children.
