Summary
A transcript of Burton Crane's oral history interview with Beate Gordon. Crane discusses his work as a financial editor of the Japanese Advertiser in Tokyo, and as a correspondent for the New York Times, Japanese society in the 1920's and 1930's, journalism and consorship during the allied occupation of Japan, Douglas MacArthur's role in the occupation, key organizations in the occupation and the Japanese constitution, and prominent military and political figures.
