Summary
The Bristol Moravian Church began collecting archives soon after its establishment in 1755, and the first catalogue of these archives was made in 1767. In the 18th century, the Bristol Church was the most important one in the West of England, and thus material relating to the whole of the West of England was preserved there for reference. This microfilm is a catalogue of this material including both printed and manuscript works. At the request of the Moravian Historical Society of the British Province every Moravian Congregation was asked to prepare a check list of its archives, so that a union catalogue of Moravian Archives in the British Isles could be compiled.
