Summary
A collection of miniature architectural and landscape views and other illustrations supplied by Repton for the Polite Repository published by Peacock, to use as frontispieces or illustrate each month of the year. The palaces, mansions, villas, rectories, etc. depicted include the gardens where Repton had received commissions. Also includes illustrations of the months. Assembled in chronological order by Nigel Temple.
The collection includes other illustrations of scenes, mostly in England and Wales, but also several scenes of Italian and French sites, as well as a few other tourist destinations around the world, from other published works: Thomas Dugdale's Curiosities of Great Britain, Thomas Cromwell's Excursions in the county of Essex, and Thomas Cromwell's Excursions in the county of Norfolk. One untitled and unsigned drawing of church ruins laid in.
