The collection also includes several recipes for making colored inks, as well as Giles Fletcher's poem Christ's Victorie In Heaven; a poem which begins, "With patience forlorne I passe the months and yeares in solitude"; and a longer poem investigating the self: "Whoe seekes me in me shall not find me as me as my self...I am at once male female never yet What ever I am I am not mine I weet..."
