Summary
Manuscript, in multiple hands, of a collection of 54 poems, primarily concerning family members' birthdays and christenings; their departure or return; and praising the comforts of home. Poem titles include To my mother on my birthday; To my sister; On seeing dear baby asleep; A song of home; Breath of the morning; and Hymn for Dunboe Sunday school. Several poems address current events and persons, including On the accession of his majesty king William the 4th; Lines written upon reading lord Byron's Euthanasia; and Lines addressed to Mrs. Hemans. The volume also includes two prize poems, one of which is prefaced by lines addressed to the senior Fellows of Trinity College, Dublin. The poems are dated, and several are labeled "Dunboe."
