Written entries are preceded by a printed "Address" which declares, "the following yet unwritten Sheets, designed to become the choice Receptacle of 'Manuscript Gleanings,' are intended to furnish an acquisition of some interest and utility to the present age."

Written on flyleaf: "Laura."

Summary
Manuscript, in multiple hands, of a collection of about 75 poems, primarily sentimental treatments of such subjects as friendship, love, deaths of loved ones, flowers, and farewells. The volume includes numerous poems by Byron and Thomas Moore, as well as Emily Bronte's Remembrance, an excerpt from Wordsworth's Lines Left Upon A Seat In A Yew-Tree, and a poem attributed to Lady Caroline Lamb on her neglected lyre.
