Summary
Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of 68 poems by various authors, primarily on the subjects of love and death. Most poems are attributed, and several are annotated with the place of publication; for example, the poem titled A Dirge is labeled "Dublin University Magazine October 1857." Other poems include Ode To Yimmang River by "An Australian"; Thanatopsis by William Cullen Byrant, "an American"; The Seminolee's Dirge; The Sleeping Palace by Alfred Tennyson; Benecite Hymn by Agnes Strickland; and an anonymous Latin poem in honor of Victoria and Albert's wedding. Other poets in the collection include George Byron; Felicia Hemans; Victor Hugo; Henry Longfellow; Hannah More; and William Wordsworth.
