Manuscript of the official copy of the inquisition post mortem on the estate of Sir Philip Sidney, taken 8 July 1588. The inquisition details the ownership history of Sydney's lands, from the time of Henry VIII to the present; the current status of his rents and tenants; and the worth of his various estates. The document also includes portions of his will pertaining to bequests of his land to his family members.
