"Proposals for printing [Dwight, Timothy. The conquest of Canaan; a poem in eleven books] were issued in 1775, but the state of the country delayed publication."--Dexter, F.B. Biographical sketches of the graduates of Yale College, 1903, v. III, p. 327. Timothy Dwight was a tutor at Yale College at the time the proposals were issued, and it is likely that they were printed in New Haven.
