Words of the 1st work adapted from the Scholar gipsy & Thyrsis by Matthew Arnold; words of 2nd work by Miles Coverdale, after Luther; text of the 4th work various biblical souces. Third work contains printed words in the score from Song of Solomon (they are not performed), but the sung portions are wordless.
Compact disc.
Originally issued on analog discs in 1968 & 1969, except for 2nd work, previously unpublished.

Program notes by Michael Kennedy & vocal texts (including the unspoken excerpts from Song of Solomon printed in the score of the 3rd work) inserted in container.
