A collection of manuscript sketches, in several hands, of various locations in Devon. The thin oblong sketchbook is inscribed, in graphite, with the names "Mary Luxmoore" and "CTC Luxmoore" on the inside of the front cover. While most of the illustrations are clearly by the same artist, one or two are equally clearly not; the two sketches of a horse and cart on the final leaf appear to be a child's drawings. Many of the illustrations have captions, some with the precise location from which the sketch was taken. On the first page is a watercolor of Teignmouth; the rest of the illustrations consist of pen and ink sketches or unfinished graphite sketches.
The views primarily depict harbors or country cottages and include: Teignmouth from Brookefield House, Mr. Temple's; W. Lynton's Cottage, Teignmouth; View from the belvedere at Powderham; From W. Long's garden; Woodbine Cottage near Torquay; Torquay, 1830.
