This series comprises statistical surveys and activity reports filed with the Board of Foreign Missions (BFM), United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA). The records are from 1946-1962 with the majority generated between 1956-1962. There are quarterly and annual statistical surveys submitted to BFM by the mission fields, periodic activity reports submitted by the field to the BFM for inclusion in board reports, and completed reports filed with the Lutheran World Federation, Department of World Missions. Questions and clarifications in regards to the filing of reports comprise accompanying correspondence. A majority of the correspondence to and from the BFM is that of the Rev. Fred J. Fiedler, a secretary in the BFM.
Additional records in this series pertain to foreign mission publicity and promotional efforts conducted by the BFM. These records include press releases, activity updates, articles submitted to The Lutheran, promotional and educational brochures, essays and articles, and missionary circular letters updating readers on the activities of a particular mission field. Files are arranged chronologically.
