The grounds belonging to the house lie in common with those of St. Stephen's Chapel. "It is therefore proposed to lease the property for the use of St. Stephen's House, for five more years. ... and to request any one who is so disposed, to send to the subscriber, the subscription of a sum, not less than $100 annually, for five years, to pay the rent of the house in question, or to be applied to the purchase of the same ... To give some idea of the amount which we do for the poor and distressed, at St. Stephen's House, I mention the following ..."
