Song in twelve stanzas; first lines: It was on the seventeenth by brake of day, the Yankees did surprise us.
Lockwood, Brooks & Company is first listed in the Boston directory for 1875. Another edition, with the title A Song, composed by the British butchers, after the fight at Bunker Hill, on the seventeenth of June, 1775, was "re-printed in 1880."
