Summary
Diaries, holograph, of a young French (possibly Belgian) woman covering the period from late 1944 to 1949. The diaries record the young woman's life and historical events in Europe around the end of the war, discussing, for example, her departure from Brussels in late 1944, the bombing of Chemnitz in Germany in early 1945, travel and refuge during the last months of the war, and her relationships, first with a married German officer, Erich Ordelheide, and later, with an Englishman, Albert E. Starr. Accompanied by a receipt dating from early 1949 and a partial translation, in an unidentified hand, from the French to English.
