Gaston Chérau (1872-1937), French journalist and novelist.
Summary
Papers consist of a holograph draft and research materials relating to Chérau's novel Valentine Pacquault. The draft, which is heavily corrected, is signed and dated "Paris le vendredi 3 avril 1914." Research materials include thirty-four black-and-white photographs, photographic postcards, some dated 1892, and a printed map documenting locations in and around Saint-Maixent, France, where the novel is set.
