Includes an essay on "The John H. Vanderpoel Memorial Art Gallery" by William L. Klug (p. 5-9).
"In spite of the hundreds of pictures now held by the gallery, the Buttermakers [by Vanderpoel] was the only one it ever bought. An inspection of the gallery will show works of 'the great of the earth' they having donated items which they believe to be their best ... It was thought at first that contributions would come from artists and friends of Vanderpoel, but the idea was broadened at the suggestion of artists so as to include all of those who sympathize in the effort to memoralize artists everywhere. So, this Gallery houses a fine permanent collection in which great artists from everywhere are represented"--P. 9.
1 folded sheet tipped in at end entitled "P.S.": "Since this catalogue was printed twenty-five canvases, etchings, etc. have been added to the collection--others 'on the way.' The 'P.S.' tip-in gives the list of the names of artists and their contributions" (3 p.).
