Based on 'Der Pirat' an unpublished story written in 1957 by Hellmuth Puhlmann and translated by Grischa Duncker; includes manuscript pages in German.
"In Berlin in the spring of 1998 I found a small leatherbound notebook at the flea market in Tiergarten. The notebook, from 1957, contains the stories, poems and jokes of a thirteen year old named Hellmuth Puhlman. The project, “The Pirate” is based on a translation of the longest story, “Der Pirat”. P. Summary
The story is about a modern pirate who plots to trap and disable a government ship which would prevent a plundering raid he was planning and a detective, Charles Gaston, who solves the crime that leads to the arrest of the pirate captain.
