Biographical / Historical Note
Alexander "Alec" Stern (1904-1994) was a printmaker, painter and illustrator born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and raised in San Francisco, California. He studied at Columbia University and at the California School of Fine Arts. In 1955, he established a studio and publishing business in San Mateo, California.
