Manuscript title page reproduces that of the 1732 edition.
Illustrated with seven full-page ink and gouache portraits, including one of Louis XV, as well as scores of smaller portraits, birds, borders, head- and tailpieces.
Two manuscript letters are bound in at the beginning. The first identifies the copiest and illustrator as André Simon. The second, dated 1746, indicates that Simon was commissioned by the Duc d'Entrecasteaux to copy and illustrate the work for his son, likely using the 1732 edition.
