Each part also issued separately. Part II, The Christian harmony, is in 2 v., the 2nd published in 1796. Part I and v. 1 and 2 of Part II each have a general title page (i.e., for The art of singing) and a special title page with the title for the part. Part III, The musical magazine, has special title page only. Described on that title page as "Number first" and with imprint date of 1792, it in fact contains numbers 1-4, first published separately, 1792-1795, here collected and accompanied by an index.

According to Evans, the plates were engraved by Amos Doolittle and printed by William Law, while the letterpress printing was done by Elisha Babcock.
